Cluttering Therapy

According to the Stuttering Foundation, Cluttering is defined as follows: “Cluttering is a fluency disorder characterized by a rapid and/or irregular speaking rate, excessive disfluencies, and often other symptoms such as language or phonological errors and attention deficits.  “ Children who use cluttered speech are often very difficult to understand and have speech that sounds jerky or too fast.   They may have irregular pauses or may speed up and slow down without cause during speech.   As secondary symptoms, they may have difficulty organizing their thoughts verbally, they may leave many sounds out of words, and they may use irregular pitch or intonation.

Speech & Language Development in Twins

According to the 2006 National Vital Statistics Report, about 32 twins are born per 1,000 births in the United States. For expecting parents, the prospect of twins can be incredibly exciting. But it can also be just as overwhelming, with double the responsibility and half the time. Raising twins differs from raising singletons in several ways, requiring parents to carefully plan and prepare. Knowing what to expect can reduce anxiety and empower parents to handle their new role with double the confidence. Are twins more likely to be delayed in Speech? Studies have documented that twins are more likely to demonstrate delays in speech and language skills, with males typically showing a six-month greater lag than females (Lewis & Thompson, 1992).

On August 28, 1963, the Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. delivered the “I Have a Dream” speech that inspired America — and shamed it into honoring the principles on which it was founded. Not all of us are fortunate enough to have a working mic to remind all of our friends how awesome we are in game.
